WHY HOMEPAGE IS IMPORTANT TO WIN CLIENTS?

When you visit a place or somebody’s house, the first thing that you notice while standing at the main entrance is the exterior of the house. But when we talk about websites, the first thing that people conventionally notice and visit is the homepage. Often underestimated, it is an important part of the complete website. The main purpose of a homepage is to put the important and key information of a website in a concise manner and direct visitors around the site. It gives a fair idea of the website. You can call it as the first impression for your website.

First Impression

Consider that you have put in place a very nice and appealing website. Your next expectation will be to get good traffic and hence generate leads for your business. This will happen when someone lands on your site and explores it. In other words, somebody enters your website and navigates the various pages on your website to understand your offerings, to read your blog articles, to get to know your organization’s profile, or for any other reasons.

Anybody who is landing on your homepage or website from a front door, homepage creates the first impression.

There are few key elements that modern-day websites need to carry in their homepages:

1.Logo – Your homepage needs to have a logo that can clearly represent your organization. And if the logo is accompanied by a tag line then the tag line should be one that can directly relate to the mission of your business.

2. To-the Point Text – Words are a key here. You don’t have to bombard it with words. Less, concise and precise information is not only beautiful and but is also easy to read. Use simple and direct words. Whatever you write should create a sense and meaning to the visitor and should have the ability to arouse his desire and interest to explore more. He will do it in the first place only if he has landed on a correct and relevant site.

3. Creative Design – A thoughtful and well-planned design plays a great role in attracting visitors to navigate the site completely. Simplicity, right color combination, use of perfect graphics, font style, and size serves as the main ingredients for a brilliant design.

4. Website Layout – Don’t play hide and seek on your website. A nice page layout and easy navigation across the entire website are very crucial to the success of your website. The links should clearly state what lies beneath them. This will help users to understand things in a better and clear way and it will also allow them to easily relate things to their requirements.

5. Social Media Links – It is easy to put the links of your social media pages, be it LinkedIn, Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest, Instagram, YouTube, etc. to the footer of your website pages including the homepage.

Although, homepage creates the first impression of your website, but you definitely need to consider other pages also with the same level of seriousness. These days, visitors not only come through the front door, but they visit your web pages through search engines, social media links, and links from other websites. In such a scenario, every page automatically becomes equally important.

Additionally, it is very crucial to continuously gauge the performance of your website and its ranking.
